The Origin of Man, Ethiopia - Garden of Eden
by Ras Weero I-Ghana

.. the first land with its name in the Bible is Eden. Eden means a delightful place, or paradise ... Rev S.M. Means, in his book "Ethiopia and the missing link in Africal history" says "The Garden of Eden in Ethiopia as the cradle of the human race has been thoroughly established..." Dr Churchward, an English anthropologist, in his book "Evolution of Primitive Man" says, "From the studies I have made during many years, I am fully convinced that the pre-conceived ideas of many scientists of the origin of the human race as regards to date and places are erroneous and that the human race did not originate in Asia or any other part fo the world, but in Africa." Moses in the book of Genesis 2:10-14 establishes both locations of Eden and its eastward garden. In Genesis 2:13 he says, "The second river that went out of Eden is Gihon, that is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia" (or Cush, the ancient name of present day Ethiopia). The name of the third river that went out of Eden to water the garden is given in Genesis 2:14 as Hiddekel. Hiddekel is the ancient name of the Tigris river. The fourth river's name is given as the Euphrates. Now let us check on the location of these rivers. The first is Pison ... "it compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold." The position of this river is thought by many to be in East Africa. The second is the Gihon. Josephus, the historian, says, "Gihon ran through Egypt and denotes that it rises in the East which the Greeks called Nile, the river of ham". In Ethiopia there is a firm belief that the Nile is the Gihon. The Hiddekel or Tigris is located in the present day Middle East together with the Euphrates. Both of them are in present day Iraq. This means that the Garden of Eden stretched form the Nile to the Tigris. The land between the two farthermost rivers was where the garden was situated. Now the situation of the garden of Eden has been established, what about Eden? In Genesis 2:8 it is stated that the Lord God planted a garden "eastward" in Eden. This suggests that the remainder of Eden was logically on the western side of [the garden of] Eden. Since the garden was from the Nile river to the Tigris, the land of Eden is the land that is known as Africa today. It was here that the first couple were created in the image and likeness of JAH (God)...Enoch, of whom it is said, "he walked with God", was a Black Ethiopian man. It is widely believed that he lived around present day Ethiopia and even up till now, the most extant versions of his writings are to be found in Ethiopia. Mount Zion is JAH throne and His footstool is the earth ... Let us all strive with a clean hert and a righteous inclination so that when tried, JAH will find us acceptable ...
